I almost shed a tear…
This recipe is another one that has been shared by a family member, my great grandma Emma. See the cute little (Edwards Mom) (Good) note at the top! This recipe is so unique and I love that it has made it three generations ❤
1 tsp – salt
1 tsp – mustard
1 T – sugar
¼ tsp – paprika
2 – egg yolks
1 T – flour
1T – cold water
¾ cup – scalded milk
½ cup -hot vinegar
Mix the first 5 ingredients together and mix thoroughly. Set Aside.
In a double broiler stir the 1T flour with 1T cold water until smooth. Then add the ingredients mixed in step 1.
Scalp the ¾ cup of milk and slowly add it to the mixture in the double broiler.
Add 1/2 cup of hot vinegar and stir until mixture slightly thickens.
Lastly melt a small pat of butter in the mixture. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Esther’s note is (Don’t cook too long) 🙂
